I don’t actually like the phrase tear-down, it sounds a bit aggressive, but we all know what it is. And, if recruiters are judging you on your resume, you just want to know how to fix it.

Today we have a data scientist/#IT professional who sells himself short in the profile and accomplishments.

A few lessons we can learn from this one:

  • Keep your resume profile shorter to have more impact
  • Back up any skills you mention in the resume profile in the body of the resume
  • For IT resumes, add in a table that lets the hiring person know your skill level with each program. For example:

Java (working knowledge)

WordPress (three years, basic)

HTML (theory only)
